Joe Quesada's 50th Anniversary Fantastic Four Illustration: The Making Of

In November 1961, Fantastic Four #1 was published, changing the face of the superhero comics forever. On the 50th anniversary of Marvel's First Family, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, Joe Quesada, roll out a massive illustration to commemorate the event.

While many comic readers often overlooked the fact that Joe Quesada was first and foremost an artist over the other more high profile roles he usually took on (the former Editor-in-Chief for Marvel for over a decade and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment now), Quesada regularly bring out his pencils and pens for a special illustration for Marvel.

With Marvel celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fantastic Four, Marvel editor Tom Breevort has tasked Quesada for a special assignment to commemorate the event. Utilizing digital tools like Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop as well as social media ones like Twitter, Quesada documented the creation of the special illustration to his fans in a chronological record of the entire process. Courtesy of Comics Alliance whom assembled the entire process, check out the complete process of the piece right after the jump (do head over to Comics Alliance for a more comprehensive account of the process with Quesada's commentary via his Twitter account).
