The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: Character Bios & Soundtrack

For those curious in the Hollywood treatment of Niels Arden Oplev's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in the hands of David Fincher, here's a good chance for you to stretch out your feelers.

We have earlier had a good look at David Fincher's US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor, literally Men Who Hate Women), the first entry in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy directed by Niels Arden Oplev.

A globally critical acclaimed film, the original Swedish film went on to spawn two more sequel to round out the entire trilogy. While we are still unsure if Fincher's effort would sustained a similar result, the trailer of the film left us relatively excited despite having seen the original not too long ago.

For those still in doubt over the look and feel of the Hollywood remake, Sony Pictures has released the character biographies of the eighteen major players in the film's official site. Hit the jump to check out all eighteen images, followed by a preview of a soundtrack clip featuring Trent Reznor’s score to the film.

With Sony Pictures releasing a snippet of Reznor's score to the film on its official website, the creepy track is now available for preview courtesy of YouTube. And Reznor is indeed still at the top of his game.

Here's the official synopsis of the film:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first film in Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon. The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is currently scheduled to be released in the United States on December 21st.
