Courtesy of Empire, we have earlier had our first look at co-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the all-new. all-different sequel to the atrocious 2007 live-action adaptation directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Now you can a better look at Johnny Whitworth's Blackout, CiarĂ¡n Hinds's Devil, and more interestingly, Christopher Lambert’s monk character with the release of the first trailer from the film. Hit the jump to check out the trailer (Head over to Apple to see the trailer in HD), complete with an intro from the dynamic directing duo behind Crank and its sequel.
While the trailer started with some kind of a stereotypical tragic hero-style, it does thankfully get better gradually, building to a climax ending with good ol' flaming skull himself pissing hellfire.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Columbia Pictures’ and Hyde Park Entertainment’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Screenplay by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and David S. Goyer. Story by David S. Goyer. Based on the Marvel Comic.
